ABOUT T.I.AHMADIYYA GIRLS SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

THE MAIN CLASSROOM BLOCK

The level of discipline in the school is appreciably very high. Great emphasis is placed on instilling discipline and high moral standard in the students to nurture academic excellence. As the school is a mission school and the ‘first ever Girls’ school of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, our efforts have been redoubled to improve this level of discipline to train women of substance for the future.

Administrative structures in place give more than sufficient room for dialogue, consultation, information flow and cooperation such that conflict is greatly suppressed. This is achieved through class durbars, SRC meetings, staff meetings and the proper functioning of the PTA and Board of Governors.

OUR VISION

To help build an institution comparable to the ‘Well Endowed’ Girls Schools in the country.

With Allah on our side we will acomplish that dream.

BRIEF HISTORY

To provide sound, moral and quality education to enable the individual to develop her God-given talent to the full.

T. I. Ahmadiyya Girls’ Senior High School started as a middle school in 1968 by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission Ghana and later transformed to a secondary school in 1969 with one Mr. Antwi Boasiako as the acting head. Later in October 1972, Mr. Mubarak Ahmed, a Pakistani was appointed the first Headmaster of the school. In 1973 it was registered by the Ghana Education Service.  Further on, on 1st October 1990 it was absorbed into the public system with Mr. M. A. Morgan as the first Ghanaian Headmaster.

During the 2008/2009 academic year it was converted to a purely girls’ school when Mr. Collins Yeboah-Druye was Headmaster. Later in 2009, Madam Ayesha Nyantakyiwaa Boakye became the first Headmistress of the newly converted girls’ school.

RELIGIOUS FREEDOM & TOLERANCE

Though it is a Muslim Mission institution it is important to note that the school administration is very tolerant on matters of faith and worship. Nobody is ever forced either directly or indirectly to believe or worship in a particular way. There is complete freedom of worship and religious tolerance in the school in consonance with tenets of the Ahmadiyya Muslim faith.
