BRIEF ACCOUNT OF DEPARTMENT

The Home Economics Department provides students with the rare opportunity to study and develop technical and scientific expertise in food, economics, and also how to manage their lives.

Students in this department major in subjects like Food and Nutrition, Clothing and Textiles,General Knowledge in Arts, and Management in Living. There are various avenues of employment for those who complete the courses. Some of them become caterers, chefs, dietitians, matrons, cooks, nutritionist, and in hotel management. It is a well known fact that students from this department of the school excel in their various professions in life. This is partly due to the fact that the department is one of the best facilitated Home Economics Department in terms of material and human resources.

PROBLEMS/ CHALLENGES OF THE DEPARTMENT:

The performance of the department is in ascendency yet it is not devoid of challenges. Few of these are as listed below;

Teachers are confronted with large class sizes. Some classes have more than 50 students.
practicals materials and equipments.

VISION

Is our fervent image that, the department will contribute its quota by encouraging more of the girls to do Home Economics and contribute to the development of the school and the country at large.

Being engaged in educating the Girl-Child for the past years is no mean endeavor. No doubt, it has been a period of pain, sweat, and sacrifice and we are thankful Allah who has blessed our entire endeavor.
