I.C.T IN OUR EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM

The speed with which Information Communication Technology (ICT) is developing and its impact on socio-economic activities cannot be overemphasized. ICT, according to UNDP, has been defined to include the full range of electronic technologies and techniques used to manage information and knowledge.

Worldwide research has shown that ICT can lead to improved student learning and better teaching methods. A report made by the National Institute of Multimedia Education, proved that an  increase in student exposure to educational ICT through curriculum integration has a significant and positive impact on student achievement, especially in terms of "Knowledge・Comprehension" · "Practical skill"  and "Presentation skill" in subject areas such as mathematics, science, and social study.

BRIEF HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT

The department is one of the youngest and the fastest growing department in the school. Is made up dedicated teachers and lab technicians who ensure there is smooth and cordial relationship between the i.c.t department and the other departments.
At the department we make sure the quality of education will be continuously improved and this is aided by intensive and extensive use of ICT;

PROBLEMS/ CHALLENGES OF THE DEPARTMENT:

There are challenges at the Department which includes

1.Inadequate of computers and accesories.

2.lack of mordern ICT tools and infrastructure

 

 

VISION

Ou vision include

1.   Supporting learning and teaching across the curriculum at all levels
2.  The assessment, record keeping and reporting process
3.  Collaborative working for teachers and pupils
4.  Progressing the new post-primary arrangements, including school leadership, the revised curriculum and the entitlement framework
5.  Facilitating the celebration and showcasing of achievement
6.  Promoting the effectiveness management of information gathering, analysis, decision-making and communication.
7.   Reducing the burden of administration through effective use of ICT
